Samsung launched New Galaxy Tab

The Korean company Samsung Electronics has come out with a new version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in its own backyard, the South Korean market, in a renewed attempt to take on the current market leader, the iPad from Apple.

"As our smartphone business grew very fast within a very short period of time, I believe it's just a matter of time for our tablet business to improve,"

JK Shin, head of Samsung' mobile division, told in.Reuters.com.
About 14 million iPads were sold by Apple in the first half of 2011, whereas it is estimated that Samsung sold about 7.5 million units of Galaxy Tab in the entire 2011. Samsung is the nearest thing to what Apple can call a rival, and the company could become an Apple rival because of easy access to core tablet components and chips, thus increasing its cost competitiveness.
The upgrade has come at a time when the two companies are fighting a legal battle in which Apple claims Samsung has been copying its product designs for its Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Samsung, in return, counterattacked against Apple by asking for access to forthcoming Apple products iPad 3 and iPhone 5. The request was not granted, but the ferocity of the fight became quite clear with these moves.
In a news, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be sporting a MicroSIM card which means it is doing what iPad has done earlier.
Prices of the new version of Galaxy Tab starts at $500 (about Rs 22,000), just like iPad 2 from Apple. Samsung believes it would be able to increase its tablet sales by five times, though it didn't give out any specific numbers.

Google+ has a 'celebrity acquisition plan' for its publizising

The Big Company is designing up a "celebrity acquisition plan" to help publicize Google+.
Google is beginning to devise a system that would verify the identities of public figures who sign up for the service, said Brett Schulte, a Hollywood consultant and organizer of social-media gatherings called Tweet House.

According to Hollywood consultant Brett Schulte, Google is “very interested in having celebrities”, and is currently looking at several different methods for the verification process. The plan is unconfirmed by Google, but the company recently told brands and businesses not to create Google+ profiles just yet, as it works on a better experience for them.

Twitter, for example, displays a special badge on verified profiles. Facebook doesn’t specifically indicate verified profiles, but it does remove fake profiles on user request.

More likely, Google will arrange a list of the top talent agents and consultants who would be able to file requests directly, Schulte said. "They seemed to be very interested in having celebrities," he said.

Lady Gaga's website hacked : fans' personal information stolen

Fans Exposed ...

Popular singer-songwriter Lady's Gaga's UK website was hacked by a group of cyber attackers.
Hackers have managed to break into Lady Gaga's website and leaked information about its registered users, prompting the pop star's record label to contact the police.

SwagSec is a new group that targets artists and the music industry. Its members have so far hacked the websites of Amy Winehouse, Lauren Pritchard, Justin Bieber and the Klaxons.

Several sources report that Swag Seg, a US based group that (according to DigitalSpy) publicly revealed its plans to attack the websites of Gaga and fellow pop stars Amy Winehouse and Justin Bieber. The hack allegedly took place on June 27, with names and email addresses being lifted, but the information was only made public this week.

Gaga’s overseas label, Universal, contacted the authorities, revealing that “the hackers took a content database dump from ladygaga.co.uk and a section of email, first name and last name records were accessed. There were no passwords or financial information taken.” Well, thank goodness for that!

The label also stated that they “take this very seriously and have put in place additional measures to protect personally identifiable information. All those affected have been advised.”

Gaga is reportedly upset about the matter, and hopes that the cops will be able to solve this case and problem. We really hope that this security breach doesn’t cause Gaga to pull back from her activity in the digital realm. We’re also glad to hear that the hack wasn’t much worse, since it could have been.

An infinite scrolling search page is being experimented by Google

How do you think you quried google and it shows an infinitly scrolable results page.

The new experimental page changes that. As you scroll, both the search bar at the top and links down the left side scroll with you. That way, you can easily update your search term or refine the search from wherever you are on the page without having to scroll back up to find them.

See the experimental design of new Google search results page.

As the video above shows, Google may keep the pages links at the bottom of a page, but combine it with the always present search bar and links. The other change is the preview functionality that now has a clickable spyglass appearing to the side of the text block link rather than next to the link title.

When and if this update becomes the standard for Google Search is in Google’s hands. Everything seems to work, and the infinite scrolling is definitely an improvement.

Google released Android 3.2 Honeycomb SDK

The next in line version of Honeycomb

On the Android Developer forum  Google has oficialy anounced the next version Honeycomb.
As you all might know Android 3.0 is a great solution for Tablets. In the latest version Android 3.2 google brings a number of enhancements, and touts optimization across the system that aim to improve the performance of the OS on current Tablet devices using the OS.

Fixed size apps that are originally designed to run on smaller device will run better than before as the new OS will not try to optimise the application according to the screen resolution but it gives manual choice to the user to select whether the application needs to be stretched to fit the screen or a little zoom will make things better.

Along with the newer additions, the new operating system will also bring along media sync which will now be possible directly from the SD card as well as opposed to system memory earlier.

To make application much better in terms of experience, Google has given the control to the developers to maximize use of system resources like the display resolution with regards to the application and their display so that users get a better much easier view.
With Google working double time on the new Android Honeycomb 3.2, it is not very far from when we start hearing news about developers releasing the update patches for tablets and this could very well happen over the next few months itself.
