Google released Android 3.2 Honeycomb SDK

The next in line version of Honeycomb

On the Android Developer forum  Google has oficialy anounced the next version Honeycomb.
As you all might know Android 3.0 is a great solution for Tablets. In the latest version Android 3.2 google brings a number of enhancements, and touts optimization across the system that aim to improve the performance of the OS on current Tablet devices using the OS.

Fixed size apps that are originally designed to run on smaller device will run better than before as the new OS will not try to optimise the application according to the screen resolution but it gives manual choice to the user to select whether the application needs to be stretched to fit the screen or a little zoom will make things better.

Along with the newer additions, the new operating system will also bring along media sync which will now be possible directly from the SD card as well as opposed to system memory earlier.

To make application much better in terms of experience, Google has given the control to the developers to maximize use of system resources like the display resolution with regards to the application and their display so that users get a better much easier view.
With Google working double time on the new Android Honeycomb 3.2, it is not very far from when we start hearing news about developers releasing the update patches for tablets and this could very well happen over the next few months itself.

What’s wrong with Twitter 2011?

Twitter is secretly fundraising for a huge valuation ...

Why its founders quitting one after other ?

The company that compited with Big coperate companies like Google and facebook is now suffering...
The most recent departure was Biz Stone, a cofounder who announced his plans to leave in late June. He will join Twitter cofounder Evan Williams, who bailed out a few months ago for a company called Obvious, the company that spun off Twitter. The third cofounder, Jack Dorsey, works part time at Twitter while also serving as CEO of a startup called Square.

Dorsey was Twitter’s first CEO. He was replaced by Williams when Dorsey became chairman. Williams was replaced as CEO by Dick Costolo, who was hired from Google. Dorsey came back when Costolo took over, but then Williams left, though he remains on the board of directors. Shockingly, after all this turnover, Twitter still can’t get any traction as a business. Revenues may reach $150 million this year and $250 million in 2012, according to eMarketer, which tracks online ad spending. But that’s puny compared with this year’s sales at Facebook ($4 billion), Groupon ($3 billion), and Zynga ($1.8 billion). Add to that the FTC’s reported look into allegations that Twitter has engaged in anticompetitive behavior with companies that develop applications and services that run on top of its network.
Venture capitalists have pumped $360 million into Twitter, and recently the company was reported to be raising more money based on a stunning valuation of $7 billion, roughly double its valuation from only seven months ago. Should anyone be concerned that the cofounders can’t be bothered to stick around? A spokeswoman provides a canned statement claiming the three founders remain “deeply connected” to the company—Dorsey with his part-time role, Williams with a board seat, and Stone doing some fuzzy stuff about “social-good efforts.” The funny thing is that right now the market for tech IPOs is heating up so much that Twitter, despite its woes, could probably make a fortune by selling stock to the public. Twitter’s three cofounders may have the best-paying part-time jobs of all time.

Apple Wins Patent Case Against Android based HTC Phones :Google under attack

Apple wins initial ITC ruling on HTC phone

This will be a bad news for google because Google android is most popular on HTC phones.
International Trade Commission has made an initial determination that HTC infringed two Apple patent. If this is final HTC may be banned for inporting smartphones to US.

AllThingsD posted those two patents relate to a
1 "system and method for performing an action on a structure in a computer"
and a
2 "real-time signal processing                                   system for serially transmitted data"

Friday's ruling responds to one of two ITC complaints filed against HTC by Apple. HTC has also filed its own ITC complaint against Apple.

HTC said it didn't have access yet to the full opinion, and it sought to downplay the decision.
"Apple filed suit on 10 of its patents against HTC, but based on the judge's initial decision today only prevailed on 2 of those patents. HTC will vigorously fight these two remaining patents through an appeal before the ITC Commissioners who make the final decision," Grace Lei, general counsel for HTC, said in a statement.

"We are confident we have a strong case for the ITC appeals process and are fully prepared to defend ourselves using all means possible," she said.

HTC also noted that the ITC has ruled that Apple infringed patents assigned to S3Graphics, a company HTC is in the process of acquiring, as part of a separate investigation.

Android is being attacked from other sources as well. Microsoft appears to have been approaching Android handset makers requesting that they license its technology, and HTC is one of the biggest vendors to have complied so far. Separately, Oracle is battling Google for allegedly infringing Oracle's Java patents and copyrights in Android. Apple has lodged complaints against other Android handset makers as well, including Samsung

Pentagon: 24000 military files stolen in cyberattack

The Pentagon has disclosed that it suffered one of its largest ever losses of sensitive data in March when 24,000 files were stolen in a cyber-attack by a foreign government.

William Lynn, the US deputy secretary of defence, said the data was taken from the computers of a corporate defence contractor.

He said the US government had a "pretty good idea" who was responsible but did not elaborate.
Many cyber-attacks in the past have been blamed on China or Russia, and one of the Pentagon's fears is that eventually a terrorist group will acquire the ability to steal data.

Mr Lynn disclosed the March attack in a speech outlining a new cyber-strategy, which formally declares cyberspace a new warfare domain, much like air, land and sea.

It calls for developing more resilient computer networks so the military can continue to operate if critical systems are breached or taken down.

Now Google Docs support ZIP and RAR file types

From  Now, if someone sends you a ZIP or RAR file in Gmail, you’ll be able to view its contents from within your browser by clicking on View.

The Google Docs team says that with the addition of ZIP and RAR, the platform now supports over 15 different file types. The mobile versions of Google Docs also support the changes, and all versions allow you to pick and choose the files you want to download from the archive without having to pull down the entire archive to get to them.

If you do want to download an emailed ZIP or RAR archive, but don’t want to store it on your computer, you can download the archive to Google Docs and open it from there anytime you want. The feature is available now to Google Docs users, and will roll out to Google Apps users in the near future.

World's Lightest Laptop :Sony VAIO Z :first look

New Sony VAIO Z is Thinner, Lighter than MacBook Air ...

Sony’s VAIO Z Series is one of the finest ultraportables to ever travel the Earth, but now, several years after its 2009 debut, Sony has ripped up the rulebook and started afresh. At a launch event in London, we caught our first up-close look at the all-new Z Series.

The new Vaio Z catches the eye immediately thanks to its sleek, sharp-edged black carbon fibre body and incredibly slender design – at its thickest point it’s just 17mm. It’s also incredibly light too at just 1.2kg which is around the same weight as many netbooks.

Originally announced at the end of June, the VAIO Z series features a cool Power Media Dock: a "monolithic" expansion module that links to the laptop via a Thunderbolt connection. This external device boosts the laptop's graphical prowess with an integrated AMD Radeon HD 6650M card combined with 1 GB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM. The dock also provides a Blu-ray or DVD SuperMulti optical drive (depending on the model), three USB ports, and support for up to four HD displays (including the notebook screen) via HDMI and/or VGA output ports.

Larry Page:550,000 Android devices activated every day

with the 4.4 percent weekly growth

Yesterday Google CEO,Larry Page said 550,000 devices running Google’s mobile operating system Android are activated daily during the company’s Q2 earnings call today.

The number of daily activations is steadily increasing. Just over two weeks ago, Senior Vice President of Android Andy Rubin revealed via Twitter that there were 500,000 Android devices activated each day. He also said that the rate of growth was increasing by 4.4 percent each week, which matches up with the device activation number stated in the earnings call.

If Google can maintain that growth rate, it will reach over a million daily Android device activations by October. Yet, with the growing number of Android-enabled tablets entering the market and lower costs to consumers on both smartphones and tablets, daily activations could increase much faster.

To give some perspective of how big the current activation numbers are, Google was activating about 200,000 Android devices per day in August 2010 — meaning daily Android device activations have more than doubled in less than a year.
